What's for dinner? (With recipes)

When Lynn Donihe, Special occasions are celebrated with food. So when the seventh year for her youngest began this week, she asked him what he would like as a festive dinner. Asked cranberry sandwiches French immersion crumble for dessert, a recipe that Lynn's mother to make it, when I was a child.

But the start of the school of Reid was not the only major event of the week. His older brother, the mountain is today Hampden-Sydney College. Hill asked lamb meatballs with yogurt sauce Moroccan sausage and pita bread. And to go to college is almost as big of a milestone as it is the Donihes ate lamb dish not once, but three times this week.

Lynn said that she found the recipe, there are four or five years and was one of the first decisions for Hill.

It is quick to do, he said. Simply mix the lamb with spices - cumin, coriander, pepper, paprika - then fry. Raita has coriander and cumin. "It costs just very, very happy."

Lynn shops often Grandin Village Community Market on Saturday. That's where I learned of the planned spectacle lamb. This week bought the farm heritage lamb Samnana a regular supplier to the world market.

I asked why Lynn make a special meal to celebrate a special day? "I do not know. Foods in this house has always been a big, big problem," says Lynn. "I love to cook and my family loves to eat it. Joins food just so many great memories and so many good times with the family."

So good and so true.

Someone else a dinner return to school? Or have a tradition of eating back to school (eg, going out for ice on the first day of class)? What are the food of their college kids will miss most when you are away? (Lynn also help from scratch homemade sausages and soft drinks, remember the hills that tastes like home.)

Finally, thanks for all your comments on the grains. The more you hate it like that., But for many it was an acquired taste. Many of you have told me that cooking beans with chicken or shrimp stock take my prescription to a whole new level.

My favorite answer was Laurie Powell Ward, lick exceptional baker restore spoon (see their incredible cheesecake cups of coffee and tea). Cereal, she wrote: "If they do not so creamy as mashed potatoes, what it is right" Good orientation, that's for sure!.

Keep the ideas coming!
