Minnesota girl wins lunch with Michelle Obama

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A 12-year-old Minnesota is to the White House for a meal with the first lady's head this week.

Quinoa and black beans recipe Bollin Sophie was elected as the first entry in twelve Minnesota Health challenge Michelle Obama. The competition called for children to create healthy recipes, affordable meals under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

Entries must each of the major food groups, emphasizes fruits and vegetables.

Star Tribune reports (http://strib.mn/1nJVLpa) Girls Maplewood recipe was selected from over 1,500 submissions.

The winners from each state and territory of the United States held a healthy diet with the first lady at the State Dinner for children.

Sophie and her mother, Deborah Webster, to Washington, DC to come on Thursday.
