Ginger Chocolate, Ice Cream Sandwiches #IceCreamWeek

As a child I loved ice cream sandwiches. In these Paleolithic in terms of food, meant the vanilla ice cream between two chocolate bars with artificial flavor Klemmt.

To #IceCreamWeek 2014 I decided my Ice Cream Sandwich through layers of sweet chocolate, sprinkled update about half the thickness of a normal chocolate cake and ice cream from vanilla-infused base with ginger and crystallized ginger pieces.

Ginger-brownie ice

These sandwiches are not boxes of my childhood dreams of icy precision cutting. Instead, it is a rustic, sigh worthy adult dessert. If ice cream sandwiches are not your cup of tea, bake brownies in a single layer (cook a little longer than the 30 minutes allotted) and subjected to a scoop of ice cream with ginger. You will lose the thrill of catching drops on Ice Cream Sandwich, but always the excitement of the combination of chocolate and ginger.

Do not miss all the information on the week of ice and gift for the recipe. And visit all 99 participating bloggers for ways to make ice cream, we offer this week.

Bacon Ranch Popcorn

Yield: 8 cups

Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

Half a cup of corn kernels

1-2 tablespoons grapeseed oil

1 cup chopped, crispy bacon

2-3 tablespoons melted butter, butter oil flavored popcorn olive or other oils

A quarter cup of ranch dressing mix (store bought or homemade)

1 teaspoon of salt

Instructions:

Heat a tablespoon or two of grape seed oil in a heavy soup pot over medium heat. (You can also use canola or other vegetable oil, but not olive oil, as it is likely to burn.)

Add a few grains of corn in the pot, cover and heat. When a nucleus appears, add a half cup of cooked corn grains and the pot. Shake the pan a little to distribute the almonds in an even layer. Let the pop beads for several minutes, until the bread is full and bursting slowed. Remove from heat and transfer popcorn in a large bowl.

Add bacon and stir to mix popcorn. Add a tablespoon of butter or oil, butter flavored popcorn / bacon and stir to mix well. Add about half the Ranch dressing. Add to distribute under constant stirring a tablespoon of oil or butter and the remaining ranch mix. Add salt, stir, mix well. Taste and butter or oil, if desired.

Oven fried bacon

I prefer to cook bacon in the oven instead of the oven for several reasons: it is much less messy; not so much fat injected much; You do not have to stand each piece individually for cooking on the stove.

Here's how I do it:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line two large baking sheets lined with foil.

Spread a pound of bacon between the two plates. The discs can be very close to one another - they contract during baking.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Place the bacon and cook for another 15-20 minutes until crispy. Transfer the bacon to a plate with paper towels. Discard the foil with excess fat or pour it into a covered container for later use.

This method will result in slices of bacon which my preference. If you prefer crispy bacon least reduce the cooking time by 5-10 minutes.

Recipe Review: A digital cookbook for the Mac

The kitchen is both a science and an art that both can be very successful for a number of strict guidelines or create a new dish in the heat of the moment (and with a full stomach). Even the early leaders, however, has a reserve of favorite recipes on hand, if nothing else, then just use when the next meal is coming calls.

Recipes (Mac App Store link) are leaders at all levels of a digital box, in which you record, view and find their recipes. The application offers an elegant interface that focuses on all elements of a quick recipe: basic information such as name, difficulty level and cooking time will be logged along with the step by step list of ingredients and instructions. A shopping list is also available separately, although unfortunately no way to fill it with the ingredients of a recipe or sync with the Reminders app.

Runner-up speeds beans recipes for beginners

When I was a child, almost all summer meal is served with green beans green jade, was carefully cut into long, thin strands and hard so gently collapse as they lay on the other in the bowl, glistening with butter melted and a splash lemon.

Despite its American descent - who traveled widely in this country of the order beans gardener John Tradescant Carlos were taken, I was in the 1970s, as an intrinsic summer English as cricket larvae space and pickets.

Unfortunately, the scarlet runner bean has fallen out of trouble. Sometime in the 1980s, a triumvirate of sexy green beans push our old friend the culinary center of attention. Green beans, peas and sugar shots were softer, smoother and easier to create. The humble cyclist could not compete.

Back to basics: more beanz

The good news is that there is a reverse flow. I think it might be because people grow their own vegetables and beans make a reliable and exciting rich harvest. If you have a garden, however small, to plant a magic bean: you will soon see why the fairy tale.

You can grow some of their ridiculously large grains to find the length of a baby's arm. More beans, more fiber "strings" that come down the sides. If you do not like the feeling of chewing on green silk, you will need to cut the strings. Take a small paring knife and run on both sides, cut the ends while you are there.

Of course you do not have to grow on your own to enjoy the reward. There is a surplus of grain in this time of year, so that all the shops and supermarkets are full of them. And to prove that there are no hard feelings, recipes this week, the British runner Doughty with his French counterpart correspond attractive.
