Prepare this recipe 3 ingredients of fresh salad in 5 minutes

Picture of Flickr, T.Tseng, CC BY 2.0 adjusted

There is never a reason to pull together stories about a recipe with fresh lettuce, especially in the summer when they are ripe vegetables everywhere. No recipes needed healthy with fresh flavors of the ingredients speak for themselves. How few? Try three! Care to try it? Prepare this recipe three fresh salad ingredients in 5 minutes today, and spend the rest of the time to enjoy the sun, relax on some summer jams and enjoy every bite delicious salad a treat.

With only three ingredients that you always prepared a salad, every day, can go at any time of the year, but what is particularly impressive in the summer when you produce your choice of garden. This is not a recipe with specific instructions; rather, it is to give a simple formula of three staples like hanging out together in a bowl, and always play well with the dressing you want to throw at them.

DATA # 1: Garden planted.
Yes, it is intentionally vague. Because in the summer, almost all the leafy vegetables from a garden works. Arugula, chard, kale, spinach, cress, which is always all good here. Easy to rinse clean and vegetables, if they are very large leaves, cut into small pieces with your hands. That's it. Green, please.

DATA # 2: fresh herbs.
Yet another reason why this salad is a breeze in summer: fresh herbs, most people who grow up in the warmer months, or you know a friend that is the case, or a farmers market is full of them. Again, all herbs that you can do in the bowl of discrimination, and not think too much! Basil, coriander and parsley are the most common, but do not forget the mint, oregano, rosemary, lavender, thyme, chives, dill, tarragon, marjoram and there are many more out there!

I think most people are wrong to put fresh herbs in your recipes is to try to measure what you going to use, no need to measure everything, in fact. Just take a handful of herbs or your delicious buds / leaves with kitchen shears and pull in. I am convinced, with lots of fresh herbs in my kitchen, add great color, flavor, freshness and antioxidants.

DATA # 3: shredded soft cheeses.
Which cheese, you ask? Each cheese crumbles! Goat cheese, feta cheese, blue cheese, Gorgonzola ... they all have a different level of silk and salt, but one that, umami is distributed salty, and the quality of some acid to the "green" of the balance of your salad. If you are not in the crumbled cheese, opt for a shaved Parmesan, Asiago or Manchego are all excellent choices. If you are vegetarian or without milk, crumbled replacement / shaved cheese with vegan cheese if you like it, or try toasted pine nuts for a taste of cheesecake have.

After my salad and shows at home, I would end with some liquid possibility of extra virgin olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice, but it is up to you, the spinner salad dressing or vinaigrette beginning. Personally, I think if you actually use fresh vegetables, herbs and cheese, you do not want these flavors in a creamy dressing that is drowning awesome, that's why I use the simple and lemon oil.

And that's all what it is, these three ingredient salad in 5 minutes with almost all vegetables, herbs and cheese you have on hand to do. Have fun experimenting!

I cook my rice and my glasses separately. Approximately equal parts of each. I oven fry my onions because I do not like stirring constantly. I use regular lentils and basmati rice as long grain nothing special or anything. Then mix the lentils and rice, served with a large slice of onion on top. If it's too boring, I recommend cooking rice and lentils in stock - chicken, unless you are a vegetarian, then use a nice shop vegetables.

Queso fresco (fresh cheese) recipe

Picture-and-cheese salad
Cream cheese, as it is used in a summer salad with figs

It is a soft and creamy flavor to the cheese shop. It has a slight hint of citrus and this is a bit like feta, but less salty. It retains its shape when used in the kitchen and, although softened, it will not melt. Used interchangeably with feta, but is very fast, so it's worth a try.

METHOD
Replace whole milk 2.5 L (bonus if you can get it) in a pan with 1 tablespoon salt. Bring to a boil and immediately opened fire lower as possible. Add 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and begin to shake - milk will begin to separate into curds and whey. Keep stirring. If it sounds as if she needs help, to separate, add another tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice.

Line a sieve or colander with a double layer of muslin or gauze and on a plate. Strain the milk through the muslin apart and let stand for about 10 minutes. Bring the sides of the fabric and press gently. The curd is in a solid mass of cheese.

The cheese is ready to eat after this time. For a firmer texture dry, you can wrap it in a cloth and in the fridge with a weight of some kind to sit on it for about an hour. The cheese is for 10 to 15 days in order in the refrigerator. 250g-300g power.

Effects of hot and cold dishes

"One bite caused a double take, because it not only to respond for his taste, but the mouth-shock too"
"One bite caused a double take, because it not only to respond for his taste, but the mouth-shock 'Photo: ANDREW Twort

Stephen Harris, the chef and owner of The Sportsman in Kent (one of the best restaurants in the UK), recently told about the thought that goes into a variety of food textures me, the contrast between sweet and salty and sour cream or " taste eco "where the flavor is repeated in another part of a dish. It was always different elements that can animate "bounce around the mouth." Contrast is the key. My home cooked food is not complex, but I often think the opposite - and able to perform different contrasts in a balanced whole - is essentially what is all about cooking.

What is not generally consider a temperature contrast. He is widely regarded as a kind of child emotion: Baked Alaska, ice cream sundae with hot fudge sauce ... They are very simple pleasures, but I think it has always been "necessary efforts," an imbalance and "derivative" when Baked Alaska. Chefs often play joy with temperature, mainly due to the salty ice. I ate a hot cucumber soup with sherry vinegar-laced tomato sorbet Spain and smoked haddock risotto with mustard ice cream by chef John Campbell. then there was the "air" Parmesan El Bulli has to moderate in the second frozen "hot tea and ice", Heston Blumenthal, Alice in Wonderland crazy flat.

I started thinking about the reciprocal of the temperature in the kitchen of the house, as I work on my book on healthy eating. One of the reasons why I love Middle Eastern food is cold yogurt is often the easiest way instead of spicy hot dishes such as grilled lamb or roasted tomato harissa (I make a yogurt soup that also added hot chili fried rice and spicy warm onions on end) cold.

Not only is the temperature contrast, which is addictive, but the contrast of cold to heat and spices (the food is "hot" in both directions). Some Japanese dishes also available. One of my favorite recipes (it is on the website of the Telegraph) is chicken Japanese ginger with cucumber Gesteinigt was then served chilled in the coldest part of the refrigerator, and I recently had a Thai dish of grilled chicken with ice cream Hot oil and cucumber dressing with chili and ginger flavored. It is not complicated, but Heston always bite caused a double take. They react not only taste but also mouth-shock.

The courts below with this game, if your temperature contrast cold cream on a baked potato in a hot oven experience, there are new pleasures.

Which Crock: Reorganization is based on old recipes

There's nothing like summer organizer and also the kitchen. Clean the old frozen somehow got stuck behind another food; Stack and the plastic storage containers; Old Spice and clean cleaners under the sink.

Recycle old cooking magazines, cookbooks, you might no longer be using, and perhaps upgrade really old leaves or kitchen utensils cookie.

Since I often my herd slowly, it seems that while the sandstone clean inside where the food is cooked, I tend not to look as close as possible to the outside. Take your time to not only clean regularly, but look for major problems such as frayed wires.

Go through a section of stores or search devices store a favorite of some of the latest offerings of online small unit.

One day, the organization may take a little longer than expected, but it is often a good friend. And while you're at it, take a minute to look through old recipes. You can use an old friend, I found.

Google the ingredients for a recipe that says Yahoo!

I must admit I'm not a big fan of football. I'm not exaggerating in the World Cup, but I understand the love for the sport. Many of my friends are excited and Facebook pages declared their love for one country over another.

With the many fans of the sport, who eagerly watched every pass, kick and target Google came to the party. Since the start of the World Cup, Google fun interactive banner on your website. Can not be canceled, Yahoo has its fair share of fun with the World Cup and its food section includes recipes related countries are playing on that day. I was very pleased these recipes, and last week I had a Moroccan recipe with sausage and eggs. It is from this recipe, had the ingredients to make the recipe column this week.

When I. Buying the ingredients for the sausage and eggs recipe, I do not know what kind to get sausage The recipe calls merguez. I had no idea what it was, so of course I searched Google. (Sorry, Yahoo!)

Merguez sausages have learned is likely to Juneau lamb. Do not worry, I'm going to replace something else. But the sausage? I chose two ways: andouille and chorizo. I was not sure what will be the best for the recipe. It turned out that the sausage was the perfect replacement and the dish was delicious. I'll be back for some.

This left me with chorizo. I have never before cooked with it. What should I do? In fact, I've never eaten, either. This meant that I did not even know what it should look when it was done. Back to Google. I have several recipes with this spicy ingredient. Many are potatoes and eggs. I had, so I wanted something a little different.

Juneau weather was pretty wet and cold earlier this week turned, and I thought: What's better than a soup? In my design, I found a new recipe.

Cooking Chorizo is interesting. This is not a link or patty sausage is just meat in a tubular thing. I put a little oil with a heated and brown in a pot. I added onion, sweet red and yellow peppers and lots of garlic. The house smelled delicious. Then add a can of chickpeas and some other items, and in 30 minutes I had to keep a spicy hot soup warm.

This week, I give you a recipe that is easy to do, I keep hot inside and I something new: chickpeas with chorizo peas. It was fun to use a new material and experimenting with different techniques. I'm sure many of you have used in your own sausage recipes. I wonder how it is used spicy sausage.

Until next time ...

Beaten and Grilled Cauliflower

Last summer, the shape of the hip for the treatment of cauliflower was to treat it like a steak.

It was something that started in restaurants and fast positive impact on the amateur chefs. Most recipes call for cutting a head of cauliflower in thick sheets lasting for cooking. Tiles are often seasoned and grilled, and the result is a delicious dinner, awesome and important.

But I recently read about a completely new approach to cooking cauliflower, the key to everything. The website published a fascinating kitchendaily.com food recipe for spicy roasted cauliflower whole in which the entire head with a cumin yogurt sauce covered with spices, then slow roasted. The result is a bit crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which was cut like a pie.

I had to try it. But he also had to adapt. Finally, it is summer, and I firmly believe that everything done on the grill needs to be done on the grill. I also wanted a crispy outside himself, something tasty and a little salty, but also go to play with the contrast of texture in the tender.

My solution is well seasoned almond flour and egg mixture. I have just the opposite head of cauliflower in a bowl with this coating, then place them on the grill right side up. Note that the trick without burning to get the outside offer, is a gentle heat. Indirect cooking is the best bet for this recipe.

PULP and grilled cauliflower

1

large cauliflower

Half

Cup of almond flour

1

Egg

1

All-soup

Grain Dijon mustard

1

Water in the soup

Half

Tablespoon lemon juice

1

Teaspoon smoked paprika

1

Teaspoon kosher salt

Quarter

Teaspoon

black pepper

Splash Hot Sauce

Preheat a grill on medium heat and then prepare for indirect cooking. In a charcoal grill, bank the coals to one side. In a gas grill, turn off the burner on one half of the grill. Cover a large sheet of baking paper.

Use a kitchen knife to cut the leaves and stem protrudes from the bottom of cauliflower. No cut on the head; You wish to remain intact.

In large enough to pitch the flat head cauliflower accommodate container, combine almond flour, egg, mustard, water, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Overthrow of the cauliflower in the bowl, rotating and shifting to cover as completely as possible with the mixture.

Place the cauliflower head on the right side of the prepared pan. Empty a total mixture of almond flour in the bowl over the cauliflower right so that it is well covered. Cauliflower is set (on leaf) on the coldest side of the grid. Cover the grill and cook for 1 hour or until lightly on the outside and soft on the inside (you can by inserting a kitchen knife in the middle to check) browned.

Let the fresh cauliflower for 5 minutes, then cut into pieces like a pie. Ingredients for 4 people.
